R. Joseph Landy

 

Joe Landy has represented clients in a wide range of matters over the years since his admission to practice law in Pennsylvania (1979) and New York (1986).  His experience includes civil litigation and personal injury, worker's compensation, Orphans Court litigation, family law matters, and commercial litigation.  Over the last ten years, his practice has evolved to focus on commercial real estate transactions, estate planning and administration, including oil and gas related planning, residential real estate transactions and title insurance, and education law.  

 

Joe is a graduate of Lafayette College and the Dickinson School of Law.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors of First Citizens Community Bank, where he is Chairman of the Compensation Committee and is a member of the Trust and Loan Committees.  He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Tuscarora Wayne Insurance Company.

 

Joe has long been active in the community, having previously served as Chairman of the Notre Dame High School Board of Trustees in Elmira, New York, and is a past President of the Sayre Public LIbrary Board of Trustees.  He is also a past member of the Advisory Board of Epiphany School in Sayre, Pennsylvania.  In 2003, he received the Valley Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the year award.  He is also a founding member of the Board of Directors of Sayre Incubator, Inc., which is dedicated to facilitating start-up businesses and creating jobs.

 

Joe grew up in Sayre and now lives in Athens with his wife Debra Blue Landy.  Together, they have four daughters and three grandchildren.
